Step 8
The Settlement

The settlement is the end of the entire process, where everyone gets paid off and all debts are cleared. The money from your loan is either wired to the closing agent or, depending on the State, a cashier's check in the amount of your loan is sent. If you are purchasing property, your down payment and any fees are also paid out. In the case of refinancing, your current loan is paid off and all fees are paid off with your new loan.

At settlement you will be required to read and sign a variety of documents. You should be familiar with most of these documents since Sue Baxter will have provided them to you in advance for review. Part of our service is to insure that there are no surprises at settlement and that you are well prepared for the final process. If the settlement occurs locally, Sue Baxter may be there to help guide you through the process, and if not local, we are just a phone call away.

Most settlements run very smoothly and take less than an hour to complete. Sue Baxter has prepared you for this final stage of the loan process, there will be no surprises or problems, and you will be glad you chose Sue Baxter as your Mortgage broker.

Even after settlement, when our job is complete, we are still available to help you and answer any questions you may have. As always, we are only a phone call away!

If you have any questions related to Step #8 or any other aspect of the loan process, please contact us. Our loan consultants are here to answer your questions, whether they be general, specific, or because your confused. Because at Sue Baxter that's what we do best: we add a personal touch to the impersonal electronic age.
